Effective Communication In The Work Place
Running more than one office locally or nationally can make effective communication with all your employees very difficult. A great way to keep them informed of what is happening in the company and anything else that they need to be aware of is to use your human resources department and their software payroll package. Each employee receives a pay slip at the end of every month and it is a simple matter of attaching an info slip, letter or other communication to the pay slip.
To find out more about how you can promote effective communication in your business or company, please feel free to contact us.

Monthly Payroll Deductions
There are a variety of amounts that need to be subtracted from your employees’ gross salaries on a monthly basis. You need to calculate UIF, PAYE, Income Tax as well as any contributions to pension fund, medical aid and other institutions that the employee may gain benefit from through your company. The more employees you have, the more difficult it becomes to keep track of all the calculations that need to be made. Make sure that you purchase a software payroll package that will assist your human resources in getting these calculations right the first time every time.
For more information on the complex calculations a software payroll package can assist you with, please contact us.

Year End Bonus or 13th Cheque
The traditional 13th cheque has fallen by the wayside in many business and companies and being paid any type of bonus at the end of the year is contingent upon performance. A software payroll package can assist you in keeping track of your employees’ performance throughout the year as well as calculate end of year bonuses accordingly. These bonuses can then automatically be added to the relevant employees’ pay slip and salary. The payroll package will also make any necessary deductions such as income tax and PAYE from the total amount of the bonus before paying the money to an employee.
Make sure that you save your human resources time and money when bonus time comes around this year and contact us for a comprehensive payroll package.

How To Deal With Maternity Leave
The legislation and labour law regarding maternity leave has changed significantly over the years. You cannot retrench an employee who is pregnant and needs to take leave to give birth to the baby as well as spend time taking care of the infant in the first few months of life. Maternity leave is normally offered to mother to be for a period of around 3 months. This type of leave is no longer restricted to the mother and a new father can also apply for maternity leave to assist in the care of his new baby or his wife. The maternity leave period for a father is at the discretion of the employer.
To find out more about maternity leave and how you can ensure that your employees are receiving a suitable amount of time to meet your and their requirements, please contact us.
